When you brush your teeth, you help remove food and plaque — a sticky white film that forms on your teeth and contains bacteria. After you eat a meal or snack that contains sugar, the bacteria in plaque produce acids that attack tooth enamel. Repeated attacks can break down tooth enamel and lead to cavities. Plaque that isn't removed can also harden into tartar, making it harder to keep teeth clean. In choosing when to brush your teeth, you might also consider your diet. If you've eaten an acidic food or drink, avoid brushing your teeth right away. These acids weaken tooth enamel, and brushing too soon can remove enamel. If you know you're going to eat or drink something acidic, brush your teeth beforehand. In addition to brushing your teeth, the American Dental Association recommends that you:
Certain foods and drinks - especially those high in carbohydrates and sugars - spur the creation of certain bacteria in your mouth that attack your tooth enamel for at least twenty minutes after you eat a meal or have a snack. By brushing right after you eat, you will get rid of bacteria before they attack your tooth enamel. For the best results, you should use an ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste which contains fluoride to prevent tooth decay and triclosan to reduce plaque and gingivitis. It works double duty - getting rid of plaque and preventing tooth decay - to ensure that your teeth stay squeaky clean after you eat. You should know, however, that brushing your teeth after eating can sometimes affect your tooth enamel. If you've consumed anything acidic, you should avoid brushing your teeth for at least 30 minutes. Foods containing citric acid, like oranges, grapefruits and lemons, weaken tooth enamel. Brushing too soon after eating them can damage the enamel in its weakened state. Consequently, it's a good idea to brush your teeth before eating an acidic food and to drink a glass of water when you are finished to wash away the acids. As an alternative to waiting to brush your teeth, try eating nutritious foods that are low in carbohydrates and sugar after eating something acidic. This will help reduce the harmful acids that such foods can create. In addition, according to the American Dental Association, prolonged exposure to phosphoric acid, which can be found in soft drinks like soda and diet soda, can erode hard tissues from the tooth surface. Acid erosion causes permanent damage to your teeth. To keep acid erosion to a minimum, limit snacking between meals and be mindful of consumption of soft drinks and sugary snack foods.  A patient came to our office, and they had difficulty chewing food due to severe periodontal disease. We explained to our patient that they needed to extract all teeth, place several implants on their upper and lower jaw, and do implant denture, but due to the patient request, we did individual implants and implant bridge. Before starting placing implants, we did bone grafting and PRF/CGF, which is drawn from the patient’s own blood and used in bone grafting and augmentation due to the large quantities of growth factors and proteins present in the membrane. Growth factors and proteins, which are a part of the natural healing process, help promote accelerated wound healing when added to wounded tissues or surgical sites. We did lateral sinus lift with piezo for the upper implants. After 3 to 6months healing period per quadrant, impressions were taken. Two weeks after the impression, we delivered the crowns and bridges. At the end of treatment, the patient was satisfied with the look and feel of their full mouth reconstruction. Total time from start to finish was about 12 months. We were happy to see the patient's beautiful, healthy and young looking smile.

Due to the high demand of implant surgery by Dr. Brian Kim and to provide the highest quality to our patients, Brian Dental Care uses Cone Beam Computerized Tomography (CBCT), also called CT scan (CAT scan). What is a CBCT / CT Scan? (or CAT Scan) CBCT / CT Scan is a special type of x-ray that shows many images from different angles and then combines them together to create an image of a cross-section of the jaws. CT Scan also reveals nerves, maxillary sinuses and other anatomical landmarks. The CT scan is quick, non-invasive and requires very low radiation exposure. CT scanning is a great aid to specific diagnosis, helping your dentist to determine potential problem areas and can, in most cases, substitute exploratory surgery. 
 Advantages of CBCT / CT-Scan?
In oral surgery, with 3-D technology, we are able to detect the position of the lower jaw nerve in relation to the third molar and avoid unnecessary injuries or jaw paralysis for the third molar extraction/wisdom teeth removal. With dental implants, the doctor needs information to diagnose and perform the dental placement of the dental implant. The five must-know criteria are bone length, bone width, bone quality, critical anatomy location and bone angle. Only CBCT technology delivers accurate measurements for these necessary parameters. In orthodontics, we have the ability to see unerupted teeth in a 3-D model and make decisions with certainty. In endodontics, we can detect extra nerve canals in teeth before starting the procedure. In other words, I can determine how many canals are in the teeth before I go in, and avoiding surprises. Dental CT Scan allows us to more effectively, efficiently, and safely treat any oral surgery. Our state-of-the-art machines provide us with more accurate anatomical information than traditional X-ray films, without having to inconvenience our patients by referring them to a different location. With our machines, our patients are scanned in 13 seconds with nice music rather than hearing an unpleasant sound. Your dentist visit will be quick and convenient.  Dr. Brian Kim uses advanced techniques for his procedures, called Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) and Concentrated Growth Factors (CGF). Before surgeries, a small amount of blood from the patient's vein is taken into sterile test tubes. The tubes of blood are then centrifuged for 12 min. During this period, the blood cells are separated into individual components: PRF/CGF and thin jelly film, also called biomembrane.
